The Revolution in Pain Relief

The Revolution in pain relief is here! It is becoming very clear to the health practitioners of the world that if we are to solve the pain epidemic in our society today we must start paying more attention to the source of the pain not just the symptoms. Much time, effort and money has been spent on the treatment of back pain, neck pain, bad knees, torn rotator cuffs, and so on. Unfortunately, such treatments tend to be partial and temporary, as the most common root of the problem, poor postural alignment and incorrect movement patterns are never addressed. According to Alan P. Winnie, MD and Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology, 85%-90% of chronic back pain is caused by muscle imbalances. The wave of the future for pain relief lies in recognizing the source of these imbalances and recovering the natural strength and equilibrium to not only the site of pain, but to the entire human frame.

The human body is an integral unit and only by addressing the whole can we achieve lasting results. One of the most overlooked necessities of the human is the physical balance of the body itself, that is, correct posture. When a body is aligned and balanced it moves with greater ease. It requires less energy to function, movement is more coordinated and the muscles and joints operate as they were intended. When that natural balance deteriorates past a narrow margin due to improper or insufficient use, not only is the inherent strength and efficiency of motion greatly reduced but it gives rise to any number of physical problems including inflexibility, chronic pain, diminished organ functioning, and arthritis. Many people think that pain is the problem. It is not! Pain is a signal from your nervous system that there is excessive strain on a particular area of the body. Muscular compensation causes pain! Attempting to correct structural misalignments with pain pills, with site specific therapies, or with irreversible surgeries will not eliminate the cause of the problem. Only by retraining the muscle system to recover its natural balance and functioning can we restore health and eliminate the source of that pain.

A revolutionary philosophy that TrueBalance wholeheartedly subscribes to is that the body not only has a tremendous capacity to restore and maintain optimal health, but also has an instinctual cellular memory that, once given the correct stimulus, has an innate intelligence that speeds recovery from pain and discomfort . Thomas Edison once wrote, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and the cause and prevention of disease." It is this kind of thinking that will eventually lead the world into a radiant state of health.
